I am originally from a suburb outside of Chicago, IL, but after moving to FL for school, I fell in love with the weather, scenery, and people. I’ve cheered almost all my life and even coached all-star youth and senior teams until I started my second bout of school. I am a very empathetic individual, and love to see others smile (which usually makes me smile)! I try to make the best out of tough situations and I believe my family, friends, and pets help make that possible. I am vegan, so I love trying to recreate fun dishes! Lastly, I do not like to disappoint. With that being said, I try to give my best, especially when it comes to others because I love to bless others anyway I can and I believe that contributes to my uniqueness as an individual.

Why are you a caregiver?

I am thrilled to be a caregiver because I love working with older adults, persons with disabilities, and the health field. I love putting a smile on people’s faces, encouraging health and wellness, and helping others in times of need.

I have an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and finished 7/8 terms of my Doctoral degree at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. My first experience providing care giving services was to a family member diagnosed with Lewy body dementia. His initial diagnosis was Parkinson’s disease, so in college I found myself doing a senior thesis on the effects of exercise on the brain with people diagnosed with this disease. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I volunteered at Larche Harbor House where I helped and entertained adults with disabilities. I also recently finished volunteering at STARS Rehab where I assisted in a boxing class for Parkinson’s disease. I have also worked as a rehab technician for St. Vincent’s and an exercise technician for an Injury care center. Through my post-graduate school I have worked with children, young adults, and older adults through clinical rotations at two separate orthopedic clinics.
